When In Doubt, Turn To Disney!

I have started looking for holiday gift ideas and have been at a loss about what to get my 4.5 year old son Jake that is fun, affordable, and does not take up half the living room. I usually give out a short wishlist to anyone who wants to buy a gift for him for the holidays or for his birthday which follows shortly after. So far Jake's list has one thing on it. Then I started to think about his love of Disney characters . . . Lightning McQueen, Chick Hicks, Mr. The King, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Emile & Remy, Herbie the Love Bug, Mr. Incredible, Dash, Nemo & Dory, Pumba & Timone, . . . oh let us not forget Mickey, Goofy, and Pluto. Shall I go on? I certainly could. What are the top five Disney characters or Disney movies that come to mind when you think of your children?

Disney Bingo has put a new twist on a classic game! First of all, they have turned Bingo into a fun interactive DVD game which incorporates clips from various Disney movies. This game is recommended for ages 4 and up. The basic rules are the same as classic Bingo. The game comes with a dvd, six double-sided game boards, and chips. The new twist I mentioned is achieved by inserting fun Disney movie clips throughout the game for "wild" cards. At the end of the clip, you can put a Bingo chip on any square that has the same color that is shown on the screen.

The features of this game that appealed to me most when thinking about my son is that it includes many of his favorite characters, it does not require reading . . . only matching pictures and color recognition, and I really think he would enjoy pressing the call button to bring up the next picture or movie clip. I have such fond memories of playing Bingo from my childhood because it allowed me to be on an even playing field with my older sister. Jake will definitely feel more confident playing this game with adults than he would playing other games that require more skill.

I also have to mention that I found this game on Amazon.com and it is currently selling for just $15.99 and is eligible for Free Super Saver Shipping! This game is definitely going on Jake's wishlist this year.
