Review: POM Wonderful Pomegranate Juice

It's rare that you will see only one ingredient when looking on any food or beverage label. POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice is one of the few exceptions to that rule.

For quite some time, various people in my life, including friends, family, and medical professionals, have been recommending pomegranate juice to me because it contains the most antioxidants out of many revered beverages. This includes the apple juice and green tea so many have come to swear by. In addition to this obvious benefit, 100% pomegranate juice has also been proven to improve cardiovascular and prostate health, as well as improvement for those battling erectile dysfunction.

While all these benefits are great, one important factor in getting my family to drink POM Wonderful is the taste. After all, my children would just stare blankly at me if I told them they should drink it just because it's good for them.

What my family and I thought about POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice:

1) The juice is a little tart and takes some getting use to. If you are a juice-lover and a fan of 100% cranberry juice, I predict you will like this.

2) My husband says he enjoys the taste, but it is very potent and he can only drink a half a bottle in one sitting.

3) My 5yr old son also enjoyed this juice, but he can only drink it in moderation. He actually likes to keep his bottle in the refrigerator and runs to take a few gulps when he is thirsty.

4) Our 2.5yr old twins have taken sips through a straw without protest, but they did not adamantly ask for more like they would do with a sweeter type of juice.

5) I, who have a sensitive stomach and easily triggered heartburn, was not able to take more than a few sips.

Since my family enjoyed the pure POM Wonderful overall, I am curious to try some of the other varieties of POM juice, such as the POM Cherry or the POM Mango, which are pomegranate blends.

If you would like to try POM juices, you can find them in most places where bottled juices are sold.
