Our 6 year old very much enjoys drawing and writing. He got quite a bit of practice during kindergarten and now we try to continue the habit at home, especially during the summertime. My husband and I have been amazed at how well he does spelling out words phonetically.Here is an example of a drawing and some writing our son did all on his own just for fun. Sometimes his writing (and his pictures too) requires a bit of effort to translate, but eventually we can figure it out.
