Everybody has a favorite way to prepare and serve their stuffing (or is it dressing?). I personally like chestnuts and onions in my stuffing and to have it baked in a pan rather than in the turkey. What do you like in yours . . . sausage, oysters, cranberries? If you feel strongly about your stuffing, you should definitely visit TheGreatStuffingDebate.com hosted by Swanson.- Order your turkey from a restaurant or supermarket, so that you just have to heat it and make the sides and dessert.
- If you are making a ham, buy a spiral cut boneless ham with glaze included. It is so much easier to serve.
- Instead of peeling the chestnuts yourself, buy prepared chestnuts, which are available packaged in pouches, jars, or cans. I prefer the pouches or jars because I can see what I am actually getting through the packaging.
- If you do not have time to bake, try offering a sundae bar instead, where guests can make their own sundaes. You can include holiday-themed toppings to make it more festive.
