Easy Cinnamon Rolls!

This is a recipe that I learned from my junior high home ec. class eons ago. The only difference is that we used leftover pie crust that we made from scratch. I use Pillsbury Refrigerated Pie Crust. The whole thing probably takes you 15 minutes to make from start to finish . . . well, unless you have an almost 5yr old boy helping you. ;P

Easy Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

1) Take one layer of dough out of the fridge and let it get to room temperature while you get everything else you need together.

2) Preheat the oven as directed.

3) Line a cookie sheet with tin foil.

4) Take a cup of white sugar and add enough cinnamon to it to suit your taste. Mix until well-blended.

5) Put a tablespoon of butter into a custard cup or small microwave safe bowl and melt it in the microwave. Start with 20 seconds and add 5 more seconds, if needed.

6) Remove the pie crust from the sealed bag and carefully unroll it. Place it on a cutting board.

7) Spread a thin even layer of melted butter over the pie crust. I usually drizzle it around with a spoon and then spread it around with the back of the spoon.

8) Now use a spoon to sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the butter. You want it to cover evenly, but in a thin layer. If you put too much, your cinnamon rolls will be sitting in a pool of burnt sugar when you go to retrieve them from the oven.

9) Next, roll the pie crust and seal the edge with a little water.

10) Then slice the roll into pieces about 1/2 " thick. Transfer each piece to the cookie sheet. Try not to let all the sugar fall out. You can reshape the pieces to look more circular if you desire.

11) Bake for about 2 minutes less than the package directions for a single layer pie crust. These are extremely easy to burn. Check the color and bake for another minute until they start to turn golden brown.

12) When you first remove the cinnamon rolls from the oven, the sugar will be boiling hot. As soon as they stop bubbling, remove them from the sheet and move them to a plate. If you wait too long, the sugar will harden and stick to the tin foil.

13) Serve right away. After a couple of hours, the sugar will become very hard. You should reheat them very briefly before eating them.

14) Enjoy!!!
