Review: Headache Buster Homeopathic Nasal Spray

I often get migraine headaches. They range from “merely” very painful to outright incapacitating. I have a decent understanding of what my triggers are and I can feel and avoid many headaches hours in advance. But some are so strong or sudden I need to medicate and lay down no matter what.

When I learned that all natural Headache Buster by Buster Brands was available for review I did not hesitate. I am always looking for new products to help beat my headaches. But I am always weary to try new products at the same time. If you get migraines, you know that you simply cannot afford to use a product that doesn’t work; so many chemical based medicines don’t allow you to mix. Nothing is worse than using a migraine product that doesn’t work that also prevents you from correcting the error.

Headache Buster was easier for me to take the risk because it is all natural. If I didn’t find it effective I could still use my traditional medicine based products. I had to wait a few weeks to get a proper headache to test it on, as the product directions state it should be used only at the onset of the headache, not prior.

At this point I will warn you that Headache Buster uses capsaicin (derived from peppers) and mint; both very unusual things to be sprayed up our noses. I must admit I was weary. After all both ingredients are very similar to what’s used to make pepper spray self defense systems. Migraine sufferers won’t think twice however to try about anything when the pain sets in, especially if it works.

I used two pumps per nostril (as indicated) and did it as quickly as I could manage. I was quite startled at the sensation. I want to call it painful, but I don’t know that’s accurate. It is a sudden and sharp sensation that is similar to a cold burn. The sensation goes away quickly though and, not to make a joke, but the last thing on your mind at this stage is your headache. Migraine sufferers know what I mean when I say a few moments of unpleasantness to help make the pain go away is worth it 100 times over.

Headache Buster did in fact work. I could feel a difference in a few minutes and the pain was mitigated quite a bit. I will say that Headache Buster didn’t make the pressure go away 100% instantly, but the pain was reduced enough to help me sleep, and that’s what I wanted.

My final opinion of Headache Buster is that it works and I will add it to my headache “kit”. I love the fact that I can use it in conjunction with other stuff because it is all natural. The momentary extremeness of the sensation is a small price to pay to combat migraine pain and I will reach for Headache Buster with my next headache. I would recommend it to others without a doubt.

You can find this and other Buster Brand products right on SinusBuster.com and at other major food and drug retailers, such as Wallgreens, Rite Aid, Vitamin World, Hannaford Supermarkets, and more.

Review: Xlear Saline Nasal Spray with Xylitol

My husband, my 6yr old son, and I are people who suffer from allergies all year round. Spring is the time of year when we all have the most severe symptoms and it seems as if every year our springtime allergies are worse than the year prior. Out of the 3 of us, I am the only one who develops asthma-like symptoms as a result of my allergies. My husband's allergies trigger migraine headaches and our son's nose is constantly stuffy and he is prone to nosebleeds.

We have used regular saline drops for our son since he was an infant, but we never did start using them for ourselves. My husband is able to use a neti pot-style irrigation wash, but it is just too uncomfortable for me. I was much more willing to try the Xlear Nasal Mist. Starting off with just one pump in each nostril was not too traumatizing. It did feel like I got a little water up my nose from swimming, so there was that mildly uncomfortable feeling.

Although this product did moisturize my nasal passages and stopped that "strep" nose feeling, it did make me feel like I had constant postnasal drip for quite some time, which irritates my throat and causes an asthma-like cough. My husband, who does not having this issue with coughing, was able to use the mist without any problems. It did not even bother his sensitive gag reflex.

We also used the Kid's Xlear on our son, which is safe for children as young as infants. It is difficult to tell how well it worked. I can only say that it worked at least as well as the plain saline drops we have always used on him. This product was effective at washing out his nasal passages, helping any dried debris come out, and preventing nosebleeds.

The Xlear nasal products are all natural and only contain purified water, saline, grapefruit seed extract, and their unique ingredient Xylitol. This ingredient, in conjunction with the saline, helps nasal passages remain moisturized for a longer period of time than saline alone.

You can purchase these products right on Xlear.com or in stores, such as Whole Foods and the Vitamin Shoppe.
