Ruby Tuesday: Nurse Shark

Last  week, we went to a restaurant to celebrate my brother-in-law's birthday.  This restaurant always has the most amazing aquarium near the entrance.  For the first time, I remembered to try to take photos of some of the fish.  With my trying not to use a flash and the fish swimming so quickly, most of my photos did not come out, but the ones of this Nurse Shark did.  He didn't move a muscle.  Since the shark was lounging right next to some red coral, I thought this photo would be perfect for Ruby Tuesday.

Silly Monkey Stories: Replacement Fish

A couple of weeks ago, our two goldfish (Shinobi and Muno) became ill suddenly. Although things looked hopeful for awhile, they ended up not making it. My poor husband was so disappointed because we have had them for quite some time and they were always healthy, strong, and happy. He was so upset that he decided not to replace them for the time being. So he drained out the tank and it's been sitting in our dining room, waiting to have a space in the basement made for it.

The other day, my husband got the idea to have the twins draw some fish to put in the tank since it was so empty. Although our daughter loved the idea, her twin brother was not so enthusiastic. My husband taped the fish inside the tank for our daughter, which delighted her. Then our first grader came home and wanted to contribute, as well. We started off with just two fish and now we have a whole tankful, including a jellyfish and a swordfish.
