Looking for a New iOS or Android Game App? How About 'Fairway Solitaire Blast' by #BigFishGames?

Fairway Solitaire Blast Game App from #BigFishGames
This Fairway Solitaire Blast game post was written as part of a compensated campaign for Big Fish Games.  All opinions expressed are my own.

I love playing games on my smartphone during my precious few minutes of downtime here and there. I think it is amazing how much diversion can be packed into a device we carry with us everywhere. Whether I am waiting in a lobby or in line at a bank, I am moments away from some reality-escaping fun.

I installed Big Fish Games' Fairway Solitaire Blast recently and have been fighting addiction to the game app ever since. Fairway Solitaire Blast is the followup to Fairway Solitaire, but with some added power ups to help you clear levels fast and in a thrilling way.

Fairway Solitaire Blast is a cross between solitaire and golf . . . sort of. The game is essentially a streamlined solitaire that progresses through a golf-like structure of advancement, gophers and all!

The game is fast paced and easy to understand, I hate games with a high learning curve, especially on my mobile device. I want fast and simple fun on my phone and Fairway Solitaire Blast delivers nicely.

Like many current games for your mobile device, Fairway Solitaire Blast offers social connections through Facebook and Google+ with rewards for sharing with your friends. There is a host of power-ups available as well to keep the game moving along.

If you like Solitaire but want something faster and a little different, you will love Fairway Solitaire Blast by Big Fish Games. The game is available free to try for Android, iOS, and Kindle Fire devices.

Pre-order the MG Android Gaming Device for $99 (Retail $169) by September 27th

I could not be more excited about the new MG from PlayMG!!!! My kids ask me every 2 minutes for my mobile phone when they have nothing else to do. Finally I can keep it to myself while the kids occupy themselves with their own device that plays everything my phone can.

Have you checked out the MG yet? You MUST see it. The moment Karen shared this with me I was ecstatic about the whole thing. Go to Kickstarter and check it out. Show your kids, they will go bananas. Heck, I went bananas! My kids aren't ready for a smartphone and can't be trusted with a tablet, the MG is the PERFECT solution.

The MG is a portable gaming device a lot like a mobile phone, but without actually being a phone. It plays the same 60,000+ games available to any phone, both free and paid apps. It is small and designed to be portable but also ergonomic like a game controller. You can preload your account with money so your kids can buy apps without hassling you. The MG can also be set up for parental monitoring.

If you pre-order the MG by September 27th you can save $70!!! This thing is a no brainer for the holidays! Can you tell I am excited about this? Kickstarter is a site that startups can use to help fund their product or service. By making an investment in the product (like the MG) you can earn perks like a fantastic discount or a free MG!

Look for our upcoming review of the MG gaming device coming up this fall!

Fingerprint Play Network Introduces Big Life Kid Game Apps

Fingerprint is a company that makes fun applications for kids for iDevices. Their new apps, Big Kid Life Fairy Princess and Big Kid Life Firefighter are targeted to give children “big kid” experiences through interactive role-playing games. Fingerprint’s apps are unique because they have parent involvement that lets parents get updates and track their children’s progress through Facebook or email. Fingerprint asked us to try out their two newest apps, and we were happy to do so.

My kids (10 & 4 ½) loved both apps. Of course, being boys, they liked the Firefighter app more, but they played the Fairy Princess one more than they’d like to admit. Both games are easy to play but get harder with each level, are entertaining, and fun for even kids as old as my 10 year old. They are simple to play and the touch-screen animations are fun and bright.

The games have levels for children ages 4 to 7, though even my 10 year old enjoyed it, so they are sure to entertain kids for many years. Fingerprint apps can be downloaded for FREE on the iTunes store.

Thank you to the Fingerprint Play Network for providing a complimentary product sample for us to base this review upon.

Review: Atari's "Putt Putt Saves the Zoo" App for iPhone, iPad, and iTouch

Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo is a fun app for kids for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod. Team up with Putt-Putt to save the Cartown Zoo at its grand opening. Help Putt-Putt and Pep gather all the animals, raise the food supply, and keep everyone happy. From playing ice hockey with a polar bear to dancing with penguins, and more, this game is sure to keep kids of all ages entertained.

My children loved this game! I had intended for it to be for my 4 year old, Quinn, but I think Avery, my 9 year old, liked it much more. It’s cute, fun, imaginative, and definitely keeps their attention. Avery loves the mini-games and Quinn loves the music videos and the interaction with nearly everything in the zoo. I like that it’s cute, features cameos by Freddie the Fish, and the touch-screen navigation makes it easy for even little ones to do, even if they don’t get the concepts. Overall, it’s a great game for kids and reasonably priced at $1.99.

You can purchase Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo for your iDevice on the iTunes store.

Review: Chuggington "Terrific Trainee!" App for the iPod, iPhone, and iPad

Chuggington is a favorite television show around here, so when we were offered a game, Chuggington Terrific Trainee! app, for our iPod, we were thrilled to try it. In this fun game for preschoolers and early grade schoolers, you help the various character trains from the show get from one station to another while avoiding or jumping over obstacles. Children can have the trains switch tracks with just the swipe of their finger, as well.

This game is fun, simple, and highly entertaining to Quinn, who is 4 years old. He loves the mini games where you pick up freight and deliver it on time and thinks watching the trains jump over obstacles is hilarious. It has both an easy and a hard setting, and he’s nearly mastered the former of the two. I’ve spent some time playing on both levels as well and thought it was a perfect attention-keeping app for children 3-7 years old or so. I highly recommend this app for your little tech-savvy kid and Chuggington lover.

You can purchase this Chuggington app for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod in the App Store on iTunes for $1.99.
