Got a Haircut Last Night!

I am usually lucky if I remember to go get a haircut twice a year. I just don't think of it. Maybe I need to attach a mirror to the top of my laptop screen?

Well, since my hair was at least halfway down my back, I thought it was about time to make a visit to the salon. I took some pictures to share, but I have to say that it was 90 degrees with 99.9% humidity last night (or at least it felt like it) and it looked a lot better when I first left the salon.

I estimate that he probably took 5 inches or so off the back. The next step is to add some color. I haven't colored my hair in about 2 years. Since my hair is so dark, it is usually a subtle change, but I always love it.

Silly Monkey Stories: Just A Little Off the Sides Please

For 5.5 years, our son Jake has only ever had his hair cut by his father. There aren't too many styling choices since his hair sticks straight our from his head for the most part. Well, at least that's what one would think.

When my husband buzzes Jake's hair, he usually gives him a reverse mohawk by shaving a line straight down the middle . (I wish I had a picture to show you, but I've never remembered to take one.) Anyways, this time my husband decided to give our poor son a real mohawk. For a few seconds, my husband allowed Jake to believe that he was going to leave his hair that way. Let me tell you that Jake was not amused. He may only be five, but he does have a strong sense of what seems right and this did not seem right to him . . .
