Incorporating Cottonelle Flushable Cleansing Cloths into Our Children's Daily Bathroom Care Routine (#shop)

I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study about our family's bathroom clean routine for Collective Bias and their client.

Our youngest children are now 6-1/2 years old.  We are beginning to get a good picture of what good (and not so good) habits they have formed as far as hygiene goes.  We realized some time ago that they needed a little extra help with their bathroom clean routine.  The fact is that they do not have the patience to make sure they are thoroughly clean before they go along their merry way.  In fact, I still often catch my 6 year old son not flushing or not washing his hands because he is in such a hurry to resume whatever fun activity was interrupted by his bathroom break.  My husband and I decided that we should try having them follow up their regular bathroom care routine with a moist wipe.  We tried placing a tub of flushable wipes on the back of the toilet, but the only child using it was our 9 year old son.  Then it occurred to me that perhaps our younger children could not reach it easily . . .

That is why I was excited to hear about the new upright dispenser for Cottonelle flushable cleansing cloths.  It looked much more user-friendly for children than other tubs.  Still, I needed to be sure to make them as kid-friendly as possible by making them easily accessible by adults and children alike.

Easy Craft:  DIY Hanging Flushable Cleansing Wipes Cradle

SUPPLIES NEEDED:
basic small rectangular bin (with openings on the sides)
ribbon (approximately 1" and 1/4" wide)
facecloth or small towel
Cottonelle upright flushable cleansing cloth dispenser
scissors

Step 1.  Cut two identical lengths of the narrower ribbon.  The length depends on what distance you desire between the hook or nail and the top of the dispenser with the lid flipped up.

Step 2.  Tie the ends of the ribbon through the holes on the shorter ends of the bin to create two handles.

Step 3.  Lay the facecloth or towel into the bin in a diamond configuration.

Step 4.  Place the Cottonelle upright dispenser into the bin to help push the cloth into place and to help you keep the cloth in place while you adjust it so it looks even on the front and sides.

Step 5.  Cut a generous length of the wider ribbon and tie it tightly around the outside of the bin right over the overhanging parts of the cloth.  Form a neat bow and then cut the ribbon so that the ends are even.  You can dovetail the ends or cut them at a slant.

Now our Cottonelle flushable cleansing wipes dispenser is right where it should be . . . right next to the Cottonelle toilet paper.

This moist cleansing cloth dispenser has solved so many problems for us, including our children being cleaner, they no longer clog the toilet by using an excessive amount of toilet paper, and they no longer use the excuse that they forgot about using the cleansing cloths because they are right there next to the toilet paper.  My husband also loves it because sometimes he needs something "gentler" to finish his bathroom clean routine.  I love it because the dispenser is super-easy to refill and the top closes tightly on its own, so the wipes will never dry out as a result of someone not closing the lid tightly enough.

We actually got our Cottonelle upright pre-filled dispenser for free at Target.  They have a promotion currently running for a free upright dispenser or a free refill package when you purchase two of their promotionally priced 18-packs of Cottonelle toilet paper for just $10 each.  Look for the special purchase endcap display in your local Target store.

Over is the Only Way I Roll!

Did you hear the news? We won! Team Over won the great Cottonelle Roll Poll debate about which way is the right way to roll your toilet paper. I never doubted we would win for a minute. After all, "Over" is the only way to roll that makes any sense and 72% of the poll takers agree with me.

For the longest time, my husband did the unthinkable. He put the toilet paper on the holder so that it would roll away from you. I never really knew the reason behind it. Was it because he really liked to do things backwards or was he just be absent-minded? Was he just doing it because he knew it would drive me crazy? Did he do it so I would take the responsibility of ever having to replace an empty toilet paper roll away from him? Regardless of the reason, it took about 11 or 12 years, but I did manage to convert him to the "Roll Over" team.

My husband and I have actually been purchasing Cottonelle toilet paper almost exclusively for the past 15 years. The new Cottonelle is designed to roll over and is both softer and stronger. I actually thought that the original Cottonelle was already very soft and strong, but I suppose there's always room for improvement.

How Do You Roll?

It took about 15 years, but Team Over seems to have prevailed in our house. I'm talking about toilet tissue! It does not make sense to have the tail of the roll further away from you and possibly hidden from site. It's much more efficient to have the toilet paper roll over from the top. Any other way simply is not logical.

Cottonelle has brought this debate to the public and would like you to cast your vote for "Over" or "Under." The beloved Tori & Dean along with the Cottonelle puppies will be officially launching this debate on January 27th in New York City.

The winning team will be announced on limited edition packaging on Cottonelle toilet paper. If you really would like to join the debate, watch these fun videos of people making their arguments on the Cottonelle YouTube Channel. You can even submit a video of your own. You are also able to cast your vote by visiting Cottonelle on Facebook.

So tell me, which team are you on?
