My Photos (W/E 9-17-11)

This week's photos are of something I have not photographed in a long time . . . die-cast cars.  I still cannot figure out why I have a fascination about photographing them, but I do.  Both our sons love toy cars, so I never have a shortage of subjects.  The ones below are all die-cast classic convertibles.

Ruby Tuesday: B is for Boston, C is for Cars, . . .

This photo was taken about a month ago. Something about it appeals to me because we cannot see my son's face (not that I ever get tired of seeing his adorable face). The red "B" for Boston Red Sox and the three red cars made this photo a perfect candidate for Ruby Tuesday!

Silly Monkey Stories: Pockets Are Overrated

The other day I noticed Luke was walking around with a strange swagger . . . and he was making a clanking sound. Then he sat down and all these die cast cars fell on the floor.

You see, since he is a little peanut, we often need to cuff the hem of his pants up so he doesn't step on them. So since he didn't have any pockets that day, he put several of his die cast cars into the cuffs of his pants. Of course they were too heavy and kept falling out, but that did not stop Luke from putting them back in again with a big smile on his face.

He's a pretty resourceful little guy, don't you think?

Silly Monkey Stories: A Toddler's Mind

This photo was taken by my husband around Thanksgiving. Since I was not the photographer, I was wondering, as I often do when I see photos like this, what was going through the subject's mind when the photo was captured.

Here are some possibilities . . .

"Hmmm . . . I wonder what would happen if I tried to flush this car down the potty?"

"I bet if I dropped this car on my foot, I could get lots of extra hugs and kisses."

"If they made this car in my size, I could go zoooooooom and drive it to the toy store."

"I wonder what would hurt more, if I dropped this car on my daddy's forehead while he was napping on the sofa or if I accidentally stepped on his berries also while he was napping on the sofa?"

What do you think was going through my son's mind when this photo was taken?

My Photos (W/E 8-22-09)

It's Sunday again and that means it's time for Weekly Winners! I know I promised to concentrate on photos of Makenzie this week, but the weather was so hot and icky, it was really hard to get too many shots that were post-worthy. Here is what I did manage to get . . .

"Monstrous"

"Silly Girl"

Silly Monkey Stories: Power Rangers & Hot Wheels

As I may have mentioned before, our 2.5yr old daughter Makenzie can do just about everything her two brothers can. She even shares most of their interests.

The other day, she was playing with the coveted Power Rangers car that all 3 of our children fight over. This car has many tinted transparent parts. Then I noticed that there was another car sitting next to it. This was a little 1:64 scale diecast Hot Wheels car, which had a tinted transparent body.

Since I was so interested in what she was playing, Makenzie was more than happy to show me. She pointed to the larger Power Rangers mobile and said, "Baba" (which means Daddy in Chinese). Then she points at the Hot Wheels car and said, "Baby." I just thought that was the cutest thing! I guess that must be how girls play with Power Rangers and Hot Wheels. :)
