"IMAX - Born To Be Wild" Blu-ray Combo Pack

The 2011 documentary IMAX: Born to be Wild became available in a Blu-ray Combo pack, on DVD, and for download on 4/17.  Since our youngest children (5 year old twins) have not shown too much interest in live action films, this Rated-G 41-minute long documentary on cute orphaned baby orangutans and elephants was the perfect non-animated movie for them.  It was also a great opportunity for all three of our children to see how much love these animals received from the amazing people who rescued them and ultimately raised them.  Hopefully they have learned how important it is to love and nurture animals as babies, just as much as it is with humans.

For more videos, visit Born To Be Wild on YouTube

This film is narrated by famed actor Morgan Freeman, but it was the young orphaned animals that received all the attention and the giggles from my children.  The baby orangutans were allowed to do many silly things that human children are taught not to do, such as pouring out their bottled drinks or drinking their bathwater.  There was also much excitement about seeing an elephant in a pair of pants and a group of elephants playing soccer.  The entire documentary captured the attention of our 8 year old son, but the twins lost interest when the focus of the film turned towards returning the grown animals back to the wild.

Currently you can purchase IMAX: Born To be Wild in a Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack, a Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, and Digital Download from most major movie retailers.

Thank you to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment for providing a complimentary product sample for us to base this review upon and for providing a second product for our contest prize.

Zambi the Baby Elephant, the Face of Project Zambi

In fall of 2009, Hasbro introduced a special edition FURREAL toy elephant named Zambi to the world. This baby elephant is the first toy released as part of Project Zambi, which was organized by Hasbro and its employees to work in conjunction with the Hasbro Children's Fund to benefit the orphans who have lost their parents or caretakers to AIDS in Africa.

Hasbro has and will continue to donate 50% of sales generated by Zambi the Baby Elephant worldwide to Project Zambi for a minimum of $500,000. By purchasing this toy for a child, your gift will be two-fold. You will be helping to fund a worthy cause as well as making a child you know smile, especially when you tell that child the story behind Zambi.

Please take a moment to watch this brief demonstration of how Zambi can interact with your child:

What makes this interactive FURREAL elephant even more special is that it comes packaged with a unique Project Zambi bracelet. This bracelet shares the artwork that also appears on Zambi's ears, which was created by children of Africa.

I look forward to seeing what additional products will be added to the Project Zambi line in the future. Visit Hasbro.com to find out where you can purchase Zambi the Baby Elephant both locally and online.

Giveaway & Review: Norman PhartEphant Toy Elephant [CLOSED]

Meet Norman PhartEphant. Norman is a toy elephant and one of the latest additions to our menagerie. He actually fits in around here very well because he, like several other members of our household, passes gas quite often. For this reason, I thought our house would make the perfect home for Norman.

Norman is not just a plush elephant, he actually has quite a bit of personality. You can see in his eyes how mortified he is that he cannot control himself. He is also very polite and tries to excuse himself when he does pass gas. I, who usually am not very fond of novelty-type items, found Norman to be very endearing.

What my family thought about Norman PhartEphant:

1) My 2.5yr old twins like to cuddle with Norman. They hardly ever squeeze his tail.

2) My 5yr old son, however, thoroughly enjoys squeezing Norman's tail, hearing the 8 different farting noises, and then pretending to cover his nose to protect it from the imaginary odor.

3) My husband, who I thought would be Norman's biggest fan, did not seem so impressed. I think maybe he didn't like the competition?

If you would like to read Norman's story or to order one online, visit PhartEphant.com . To learn more about this mom business, visit FierceFunToys.com . If you are a member of Facebook, stop by Norman's Facebook page and become a fan.
