Enter to Win a $25,000 College Fund in Jif's Most Creative Sandwich Contest! #MC

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Jif. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

One of our children's favorite foods is a peanut butter and marshmallow sandwich.  Sometimes I wonder what other foods they would eat if I put peanut butter on them.  Broccoli?  String beans?  Cauliflower?  If you've ever wondered the same thing, here's some motivation to do a little experimenting . . .

Through November 8th, parents with children ages 6 to 12 can enter to win Jif's Most Creative Sandwich Contest!  The only other requirement is that you use 2 tablespoons of your favorite Jif product in the recipe.  Ten prizes will be awarded, including one prize for a $25,000 college fund!  Recipes will be judged based on creativity, taste, visual appeal, and ease of preparation.  These tasty looking Nutty BBQ Chicken Quesadilla (pictured above) was one of last year's finalist.

For more information and the official contest rules, visit Jif.com.

Giveaway: Lisa & Lulu Cerone Join Forces with Monster High to Inspire "Ghouls Helping Ghouls" Philanthro-Parties [CLOSED]

Thank you to Monster High for providing a very special Ghouls Helping Ghouls package to myself and one 3G2S reader to help inspire our favorite ghouls to turn their passion into action by giving back.  All opinions expressed are my own.

Since the age of 10, Lulu Cerone has been a mentor to young children after having raised over $4,000 for the earthquake victims in Haiti.  She did this by organizing a full-scale school-wide fundraiser, while being inspired and encouraged by her mother, Lisa Cerone, the entire way.  That's how the LemonAID Warriors and philanthro-parties were born.

Fast-forward 4 years, the now 14 year old Lulu has joined forces with the ever-popular Mattel brand Monster High to inspire tweens to participate in the Ghouls Helping Ghouls initiative and to enter to win a $1,000 Skullership for their favorite charity by throwing a philanthro-party!  Lulu even allowed herself to be transformed into the Monster High character Boo-Lu Cerone.  Watch the video below to learn more about Lulu, Ghouls Helping Ghouls, philanthro-parties, and the Ghouls Helping Ghouls Skullership . . .

More About the Ghouls Helping Ghouls Skullership contest . . .
  • Monster High, starting April 15th through June 9, will give Philanthro-party hosts a chance to win a $1,000 cash donation to their cause of choice.
  • Fans are asked to submit a short description and photo around how they most represent the spirit of “Ghouls Helping Ghouls,” through Philanthro-parties.
To learn more about Ghouls Helping Ghouls, to find tips from Lulu on how to throw a successful Philanthro-party, and to enter to win the Ghouls Helping Ghouls Skullership contest, visit GhoulsHelpingGhouls.com.

"Win Your Way" . . . a ShopYourWay Rewards Sweepstakes Destination for Sears & Kmart Shoppers (#WinYourWay)

I am someone who loves to shop!  Since I give away so many cool products on 3G2S, I also think it's pretty fantastic when I occasionally win something myself.  Well, I have been exploring the Win Your Way Sweepstakes portal that is available to ShopYourWay Rewards Bonus Members.  These sweepstakes ask you to complete a task to be entered into a drawing to win products, including but not limited to trips, jewelry, appliances, apparel, tools, and gadgets,  or ShopYourWay Rewards Points, which seem to range from 5,000 to 25,000 points.  You can then redeem your points for qualifying products at Sears, Kmart, Lands' End, and mygofer.com.

I have to say that I was extremely surprised at the number of active sweepstakes that were available in the Win Your Way portal.  Many of the sweepstakes ask you to shop around and mark a certain number of items with "Like" or "Want", or to share these items with your ShopYourWay followers.  The "Just Kid Around" sweepstakes below asked me to mark 5 items that my children would love to "play around in."  I found this entry to be super-easy and lots of fun since I enjoy browsing for children's fashions anyway.  The "Location, Location, Location" sweepstakes only asked me to follow my favorite Sears or Kmart store location for my entry to win 5,000 points.  I highly recommend that particular sweepstake if you are looking for one with a quick and easy entry.

(Click any image to enlarge)

Once you have entered a contest, it will show up in the "My Sweepstakes" tab, which you can visit to see all your complete or incomplete entries.  Both this tab and the main sweepstakes page also shows you how many entrants there are in each contest.

The ShopYourWay's sweepstakes portal is extremely user-friendly.  If you have questions, just click on the "FAQ" tab to bring up the window below.  This window contains frequently asked questions, including how to become a ShopYourWay Rewards Bonus Member for free.  Just click on each question to reveal a concise easy-to-understand answer.  You will receive an email confirmation for each sweepstakes you have successfully entered.  All winners will be notified via email and on the online newsfeed.

For every Win Your Way Sweepstakes entry, there is no purchase necessary. See this page for details.

Win $10,000 and More in the "Febreze Seasons Giveaway" on Facebook

There used to be a time when all my relatives, which consisted of 6 other families besides my parents, my sister, and myself, would come together every Thanksgiving and Christmas without fail.  Now that my cousins and I are all grown up and have families of our own and many of my relatives have moved out of state, I cannot count on seeing everyone during the Holidays.  Some years, a few of our relatives return to Boston to spend the Holidays, but it is different each year.

Throughout the years, I have gotten to know quite a few of my readers, many of who have grown children, siblings, or parents that live in another state or, in some cases, another country.  It is these readers that come to mind as I share the Febreze Seasons Giveaway with you . . .

Febreze would like you to tell your story about a loved one who cannot be home for the Holidays this year.  One lucky winner will receive $10,000 plus all the special memories of being home during the Holidays.  So head over to Facebook to tell Febreze about someone you know who deserves a little happiness this year.

The contest has already started and will run though November 27th, 2012.  Click here to read the official contest rules.

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Febreze. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating.

Edible Arrangements' New Confetti Fruit Cupcake and a Summer Strawberry Scavenger Hunt

This past weekend, we attended what might be one of our last cookouts of the summer.  It was a family gathering at my cousin's house.  These gatherings are always special because they really only happen a few times a year and are the only times we generally get to see our beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Everyone always brings something to go with dinner or to enjoy after the meal for dessert.  I usually opt for bringing a dessert. For this occasion, Edible Arrangements made it possible for me to bring one of their new Fresh Fruit Confetti Cupcakes.  It was delivered the day before and stayed all wrapped up safely in my refrigerator until the next day.

I must say that, when dessert time arrived, everyone could not wait to dive into this bouquet of fresh fruit, but at the same time, it almost felt wrong to dismantle such a beautiful arrangement.  Everyone commented on how fresh and delicious the fruit was.

(Click any photo to enlarge)

Of course, the stars of the arrangement were the chocolate-dipped cupcake-shaped pineapple pops topped with colorful sprinkles.  The adults enjoyed these just as much as the children.  The white chocolate coating was very sweet, so it would be perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth.  Surrounding the cupcake-shaped pineapples were rows of grapes, large red strawberries, and flower-shaped pineapples.  I did not hear one child arguing about having to eat fruit that evening.

The Grand Berry Confetti Cupcake we received can be ordered from Edible Arrangements for $85.  Through August 26th, 2012, you can receive two free Cupcake Pineapple Pops when you place an order for pick up using Code: CPCK8813.  All Edible Arrangement stores are open until 7pm and offer same day delivery or pick-up if you get your order in by 5pm.

Through September 5th, 2012, Edible Arrangements will be challenging my fellow-Massachusetts residents and my friends in southern New Hampshire to spot the Edible Arrangements' Summer Strawberry!  Last Wednesday, I shared a clue with you about which Edible Arrangements location you could find the Summer Strawberry on the 3G2S Facebook page.  Look for more clues each week until the Scavenger Hunt ends.

Here are the contest details . . .

Free Fruit and Fun!
Anyone who correctly deciphers the clues and finds ‘Summer Strawberry’ at the Edible Arrangements location within the designated 2-hour time period will receive free samples of smoothies, dipped fruit or fresh fruit salad. Want to win prizes? Commenting on this blog post with the correct address/ store location where you found ‘Summer Strawberry’ OR emailing a picture of ‘Summer Strawberry’ to jkaye@carltonprmarketing.com will enter you to win the grand prize, a $200 Amazon gift card, or one of four arrangements!** Doing both will get you two entries! If you are on Twitter and follow @DoFruitNE, tweeting a picture of ‘Summer Strawberry’ with a caption that includes the hashtag #ILoveFruit and will get you an additional entry. That is 3 chances to win!

Live too far from the selected store?
If you correctly decipher the clues but cannot make it to the selected location, you can still enter the contest by commenting the address/ store location of ‘Summer Strawberry’ on this blog post. Better yet, you can visit YOUR local Edible Arrangements during the pre-selected 2-hour time period and mention that you are there because of scavenger hunt and you will receive a 6-piece box of dipped fruit!

* The scavenger hunt and its affiliated promotions will only be taking place in Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire stores.
**Edible Arrangements and its public relations agency will not retain any email addresses during this promotion, other than to notify winners of the prizes awarded.

Thank you to Edible Arrangements for providing a complimentary product sample for us to base this review upon.

Your Chance to Impact Four Schools in Need

Earlier in October, I had told you about the "Bing "Our School Needs" Contest, which was kicked off with Josh Groban bringing brand new musical instruments to a middle school in Queens, New York. This contest gave a chance to schools in need to tell the world why they deserve to win the $100,000 cash prize. What would you have told the world that your child's school needs? Which department needs the most funding? I would have told them that we need to bring back all the staff that was cut this year at our grade school, including the school librarians, the office workers, and the cafeteria lunch aids.

The voting phase of the "Our School Needs" Contest has begun. You actually only have until Sunday, November 7th to cast your votes to help decide who will win the $100,000 grand prize and the three $50,000 runner up prizes. Yes, I did say "votes" . . . plural! You can vote for up to five entries everyday, but you cannot vote for the same entry more than once within 24 hours. If you are among the first 30,000 voters, you will receive a $3 giving code for DonorsChoose.org . Check out the 15 contest finalists now and cast your votes! My personal favorite is the entry for a library for the Bear River Charter School. I suppose that my 1st grader is lucky that his class gets to visit the school library once every other week because they now have to share a librarian with another school in our district. This school has no library at all. This is your chance to make a difference in the quality of education for many children.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Bing and received a gift card and DonorsChoose.org giving code to thank me for taking the time to participate.

The Bing "Our School Needs" Contest

Due to recent budget cuts, our son's school has undergone quite a few changes this year. For example, the principal is calling on parent volunteers to work in the office and as lunch aids in the cafeteria because there is no longer sufficient paid help. Each class is now only allowed to visit the school library to check out books every other week because they now share a librarian with another school in our town. Although volunteering is a temporary solution to this difficult problem, schools should also focus on fixing things that have an obtainable permanent or long-term solution. That is what the Bing "Our School Needs" contest is all about. This contest, like organizations such as DonorsChoose.org, are giving educators and students the chance to think of solutions to their existing problems and then giving them a way to achieve these solutions.

Watch this very fun video to find out how to enter to win $100,000 and other cash prizes for your school . . .

In summary, a student or a teacher needs to include in their entry a story, a photo, and an optional video about one thing their school really needs. The entry must be submitted by someone 18 years or older. Entries are then rated by the public and those that make it to the final round will be voted upon.

This is the last week to enter the Bing "Our School Needs" contest! The deadline for entries is Friday, October 22nd, 2010. Voting begins on October 27th. Click on this link to read the official contest rules.

I Could Use New KitchenAid Appliances from Sears . . . How About You?

I know I am the one who usually hosts the contests, but I actually entered one recently . . . the Sears and KitchenAid Appliance Contest! Even though I will probably be begging for your votes in November, I wanted to share this contest with my readers because I am sure some of you could use new kitchen appliances as much as or even more than I do. The entry could not be any easier. All you need to do is upload a photo of your kitchen and write one or two sentences about why you need to win this contest. Then the next stage will be voting.

Based on the photo alone, I don't think I stand a chance. What you cannot see in the photo is . . .

  • Our stove is all rusty
  • Our dishwasher leaks water onto the floor
  • The ice maker in our refrigerator flooded our kitchen and is now permanently disconnected

How about you? Why do you need to win this contest?

Although I did enter this contest, it was not a requirement to share this information with my readers. I only wanted to help spread the word in support of my friends at BRANDfluential.

3 New Varieties of SoyJoy Bars plus a Chance to Win $1,000

My husband is one of the most anti-health food people in the world. When I told him that there were samples of the new moister SoyJoy bars coming, you should have seen the look on his face. Of course, he had never tried this product before and just made up his mind that anything with the word "soy" in the name would not be right for him. Was he ever wrong!

We received two each of SoyJoy's new varieties to try . . . blueberry, banana, and strawberry. These bars are baked whole soy and fruit. The consistency is somewhat like a spongy muffin. Because my husband is such a huge fan of banana bread, his favorite was the Banana. He was utterly shocked at how much he enjoyed it. Our 3yr old twins did not care for SoyJoy bars, but our 6yr old son did very much. After trying his first SoyJoy bar ever, he did not hesitate to say "yes" when I asked him if he also wanted to take one for a school snack the following day.

You should be able to find SoyJoy bars at your local supermarket and drug stores, such as Walgreens and Rite Aid. For a limited time, you can register to receive a Buy 2 Get 1 Free SoyJoy coupon on SoyJoy.com .

Through October 3rd, 2010 you can enter to win one of three $1,000 prizes in the SoyJoy Second Chances Contest. All you need to do is submit a 100-word written story or a 30-second video telling the story about a time when you did not make the best first impression, but everything turned out great when you were given a second chance. Voting continues from the beginning of the contest through October 10th. Click here for the official contest rules.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of SOYJOY and received samples of their nutritional bars to facilitate my candid review. Mom Central also sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Lands' End "Every Tee Tells a Story" Design Contest

Since boy's and girl's graphic tees are most likely on everyone's back-to-school shopping list, the Every Tee Tells a Story Contest hosted by Lands' End is well-timed. Through September 7th, children between the ages of 4 to 11 may submit their artwork for a graphic tee design centered around the theme "Arctic Exploration". There will be two winners for this contest . . . one boy and one girl. Each winner will have their design featured on a Lands' End graphic tee, receive a $500 Lands' End gift card, and a $1,000 donation to their school's art program.

To top it all off, Lands' End will donate $1 towards an art-related project on DonorsChoose.org . They are willing to donate up to $10,000 to these worthy projects for under-funded schools. So even if your child does not win this contest, in addition to the fun challenge of designing a t-shirt, his or her submission will be helping to fund art supplies and equipment for schools all around the country. To enter, just download this PDF entry form and template. Your child's entry must be submitted by snail mail and needs to be postmarked by September 7th, 2010. Click here for official contest rules.

My son was able to choose any Lands' End graphic tee and he opted for the National Treasures NYC Graphic T-Shirt. He had just accompanied my husband and myself to New York for the BlogHer 2010 convention and New York City left quite a positive impression on him. He loves his new t-shirt because it is so soft. I love it because it is a nice quality weight, 100% washable cotton, and tagless.

To learn more about the Every Tee Tells a Story Contest or to view their current line of graphic t-shirts, visit LandsEnd.com and Lands' End on Facebook.

Thank you to Lands' End for providing us with information and a graphic tee free of charge to base this article upon.
